This Sunday, the Church around the world will celebrate Trinity Sunday — a day when we reflect on the beautiful mystery that God is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Trinity is not a puzzle to be solved as much as it is a truth to be worshiped. At the heart of our faith is the conviction that God is relational, loving, and always drawing us into communion with Him and with one another.
Sometimes people hear the word “Trinity” and immediately think of difficult theology or abstract doctrine. But Trinity Sunday reminds us that the Christian faith is deeply personal and wonderfully practical. We worship a God who creates, redeems, and sustains. God the Father gives life, Jesus the Son shows us the way of sacrificial love, and the Holy Spirit continues to guide and empower the Church today.
In a world often marked by division, loneliness, and fear, the Trinity offers us another vision: unity without sameness, love without condition, and community rooted in grace. The Trinity reminds us that we were never meant to live isolated lives. We were created for relationship — with God and with one another.
This Sunday at Ardmore, we will gather to sing, pray, hear Scripture, and come to the Lord’s Table together as the family of God. Whether you have been part of Ardmore for decades or whether you are simply searching for a place to belong, I want you to know there is a place for you here.
Summer is often a season when routines shift and schedules become less predictable. Yet worship has a way of grounding us again in what matters most. My prayer is that this Trinity Sunday will be an opportunity for us to encounter the living God together and to be reminded that we are held in the love of the Father, the grace of the Son, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit.
I hope you will join us this Sunday morning at Ardmore Baptist Church.
Grace and peace,
Rev. Dr. Tyler Tankersley
