At Ardmore Baptist Church, we believe no one should have to carry life’s burdens alone. That conviction is at the heart of Stephen Ministry—a quiet, faithful presence offered to anyone walking through a difficult season.
If you are navigating grief, illness, anxiety, loneliness, or a major life transition, Stephen Ministry is here for you. A Stephen Minister is a trained, compassionate listener who will meet with you one-on-one, offering confidential, Christ-centered care. This is not about fixing problems or having all the right words. It is about having someone sit with you, pray with you, and remind you—week by week—that you are not alone and that God has not left your side.
Reaching out for care can feel like a vulnerable step. But it is also a courageous one. In a world that often tells us to hold it all together, Stephen Ministry offers a different way: a space to be honest, to be heard, and to be held in prayer.
This Sunday, we will also have the joy of commissioning two new Stephen Leaders, Ann Davis and Lee Ritchie, during worship. Their leadership will help continue this ministry of care so that more people can be supported in meaningful ways.
If you or someone you know could benefit from a Stephen Minister, I invite you to reach out. You don’t have to have the “right” reason or the “perfect” words—just a willingness to not walk alone.
Grace and peace,
Rev. Tyler Tankersley
