Welcome to
Ardmore Baptist Preschool

We are a Reggio-Inspired school in the heart of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. With a knowledgeable and dedicated staff, we offer children from Infants through Pre-K opportunities to begin their educational journey the way they learn best: through play, using their senses and natural curiosity, and together. Always rooted deeply in our faith and as a ministry of Ardmore Baptist Church, we seek to show love and care to all who enter our school!
What Does Reggio-Inspired Mean?
This approach is based on the well-established educational philosophy used by the schools in Reggio-Emilia, Italy, formed on the belief that children express themselves in countless ways. Our thoughtfully prepared environments offer engaging materials and long stretches of free play in which to explore. Teachers observe and document the children as they provide increasingly interesting and challenging explorations. Far from a “free-for-all” approach, we believe children are competent and capable with responsibilities for themselves, their peers, teachers, family, and surroundings.

Nurturing Your Child’s Love of Learning
Who we are
Children are active learners! Your child’s first years are essential to their growth and development. We believe a child’s feelings and interests are important and encourage our preschool students to have an active say in what they explore, learn, and discover with our support and guidance. Our job is to nurture their unique, inquisitive, and capable minds by nurturing their interests and challenging them to explore and learn about their environment. When you walk into one of our preschool classes, you’ll see each child recognized and encouraged for their individuality. Our teachers aim to engage every child through creative and meaningful learning activities. Children are encouraged to work together, problem-solve, create new things, and ask questions.
A nurturing start

Building Relationships
You and your child are more than another name on a student list–when you enroll in preschool classes with us, you’ll become part of the Ardmore Preschool family. We believe strongly in building relationships between families, classes, the church family, and our community.

Our Preschool Classrooms
Our goal is for your child to grow in their love for Jesus, to nurture their kindness for others, and help them grow in all developmental areas. The classroom environment is seen as the third teacher. Special attention is given to the materials and resources in each class. Your child will be given the opportunity to learn with authentic and natural materials. We use the NC Foundations for Early Learning and Development as a guide and resource to define the skills and abilities we want to support in the learning experiences we provide for young children. Children are active hands-on learners. Children will explore through music, art, literature, science, math, sensory play, outside play, and circle time. We also have chapel and Musicare each week to plant the seeds of faith in your child and nurture their growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Get Involved
Your child’s love of learning starts with your support! We offer plenty of opportunities for parents to volunteer and take an active role in their child’s preschool experience. Many special days are planned throughout the year and we encourage you to attend and become part of the Ardmore Preschool family. Join us for events such as our Fall Festival, Pancakes and Pajamas Day, Spring Program, Art Show, and much more.
