Staff Appreciation Month – Ardmore Baptist Church
October is the month ABC celebrates, shares words of appreciation and says thank you to our staff.
I have served on the Personnel Council for the last 3 years and this year serve as chair. I have had the privilege to meet with our staff and learn about the intricacy of each of their roles. We are blessed, church family.
From the time we enter the church grounds, church building, the sanctuary and our Sunday Bible Study rooms, we experience the care, dedication and professionalism of our staff.
Did you notice??????
– The newly paved lower parking lot.
– The new alarm system that allows easier access to the church.
– The warmth or coolness of the space, cleanliness of carpet, lights.
– The sound of worship music, a bulletin to read, a welcome in the Narthex by a minister (Someone coordinated all these things).
– The Quick Bits that keep us informed of the happenings at Ardmore.
– The Bible teaching, preaching, and study times, a tuned piano and beautiful notes from the organ.
– The joy of laughter from the children in our Preschool and those on our playground, seeing pictures and hearing testimonies from youth retreats, the antics and fun of Joy in the Journey (Someone orchestrated these activities with great care).
– A friendly voice on the phone, “Ardmore Baptist Church, may I help you.”
– The accounting of our tithes and offerings, placing every penny in the correct line item.
– A kind response to “Could you make me a copy of this” or we need more materials for our classroom.
– An open door when our world seems to have fallen apart, we are grieving or facing an illness, or doubt has creeped into our faith (Someone was there).
Yes, we have many congregational members who serve on committees and are involved with these tasks and activities. More likely than not, our volunteering involves asking for a room reservation, signing up children for VBS, asking for a repair to a broken shelf, asking for a time to meet with a pastor for guidance or “Where do I find the cart to bring items in from parking lot?”
A million questions, all received and answered by our staff. We are so grateful and we say thank you.
If you have not already done so, please leave a note for the staff in the basket in lobby downstairs or upstairs. Perhaps, you want to say thanks to a specific staff member for helping you with a task or a word of appreciation for listening. In addition, look at the bulletin board with the pictures of our staff. Perhaps there are staff you do not know, I encourage you to meet them and say a special thanks.
The Personnel Council hosted a luncheon on October 19th to celebrate our staff on behalf of the Council and ABC. We celebrated the dedication, commitment, and unity of purpose we all share for ABC.
We see you and appreciate you.
