Tyler Tankersley is the Senior Pastor of Ardmore Baptist Church. In his role, he seeks to care for the congregation, lead the work of the Pastoral Staff, help set the vision for church, and serves as the primary preacher for our Sunday morning worship services. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in cultural anthropology from Southeast Missouri State University, a Master of Divinity from Central Baptist Theological Seminary, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry in Leadership and Spiritual Formation from George Fox University. Tyler has also written two books: Preaching the Word: Galatians and Sessions with Ezekiel: Holiness and Hope.

Tyler’s favorite hobby is hiking and he can often be found seeking out new trails in state parks around North Carolina. He also loves coffee, reading, writing, baking, running, and all things Lord of the Rings. Tyler is married to Jess, an early childhood administrator, and together they have three children: Henry, Owen, and Charlotte.

Rev. Dr. Gina Brock is the Executive Pastor at Ardmore Baptist Church. In this role, she provides oversight of the Administrative Ministry, offers leadership in worship, and shares in caring for the spiritual and pastoral needs of the congregation. Gina previously served Baptist congregations in Virginia, South Carolina, and Kentucky. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Wake Forest University, a Master of Divinity from the Baptist Theological Seminary in Richmond, Virginia, and a Doctor of Educational Ministry from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia.

Outside of ministry, Gina enjoys reading – mostly historical fiction, science fiction, and devotional literature.  She has a deep love of travel, both domestic and international, finding joy in discovering new cultures, listening to people and learning their stories.  Gina and her husband, Chip, have one daughter, Rebecca

Steve Cothran has spent over 35 years in Youth Ministry. A native of Greenville, S.C., he holds degrees from Furman University, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Campbell Divinity School. Steve has served churches in Florida, North Carolina, and Georgia, as well as in Kentucky where his wife, Nancy, also served as Minister of Children/Education. They have three adult children and two grandsons.

Steve has written curriculum for Smyth & Helwys, CBF, and d365.org, and enjoys writing regular columns for the Newnan Times-Herald. He enjoys movies, getting outdoors, and cheering for the Furman Paladins. He also dreams of being the oldest cast member on Saturday Night Live.

David Fitzgerald serves as Associate Pastor of Worship, Music, and Arts at Ardmore Baptist Church where he oversees the weekly traditional and convergent style worship services, the Arts at Ardmore Concert Series, and a vibrant music and arts ministry consisting of multiple choral, handbell and instrumental groups for all ages.

David earned his Master of Church Music degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY, where he also served as a professor’s assistant, directed the Seminary Handbell Ensemble, and taught courses in Handbell Methods. David has served in music ministry positions in churches in Virginia, Kentucky, and North Carolina for over forty-five years. Throughout the years he has served as pianist and organist for Virginia Baptist State conferences and events, including The Virginia Baptist Male Chorale, The Northeast Piedmont Chorale, and served as guest clinician/conductor for state and local handbell festivals in Kentucky and Virginia. Several of his compositions have been published in Handbells Magazine and Worship Magazine. David and his wife Martha have four children and two beautiful granddaughters. David enjoys playing the piano, composing music, working in the yard, visiting antique stores, and spending time in the mountains and with his family. He is inspired by the beauty of nature and God’s creation, the beach, mountains, great music, and art, as well as creative worship and the great hymns of his faith.

Kathryn Packett is the Associate Pastor of Welcome at Ardmore Baptist Church. Kathryn ensures visitors are welcomed, engaged, and supported during their time at Ardmore Baptist. She also assists with acclimating new members, community outreach, and planning events for the church. Kathryn holds a Bachelor of Science from Appalachian State University and is completing her Master of Divinity through Central Baptist Theological Seminary. 

Outside of church, Kathryn enjoys reading non-fiction, frequenting Tanglewood park with her family, and is always up for meeting you for a cup of coffee! Kathryn is married to Ryan, and together they have two small children and a beloved black lab.

Lee Ritchie is Associate Pastor Children and Senior Adults which means she serves families with children birth-6th grade as well as our senior adult community.  She has had the privilege of getting to know, equipping, praying for, and leading children and their families along their faith journey.

Lee received a B.S. in Early Childhood Education at the University of West Georgia and a M.Div. in Christian Education at McAfee School of Theology, Mercer University.  Lee has served as an elementary school teacher and a minister to children and youth in Georgia.

Lee enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading a good book, being near water, creating random art projects, and exploring the world from her children’s perspective. She is a yoga instructor and is trained in social emotional learning.

Lee and her husband, Jason, have 2 children.

Kristin Morris is the Administrative Assistant at Ardmore Baptist Church. She is the first face you see in the office and handles the church calendar, hospital visitation list, and many more things that keep the church organized. She and her husband moved to Winston-Salem from Asheville, NC in 2018 and welcomed their amazing daughter, Kynlee, in 2019. 

Her parents are retired Salvation Army ministers, which means she had the pleasure of moving around quite a bit growing up and meeting interesting people from so many walks of life. She considers Atlanta, GA her home, as she spent most of her time there.  Her interests include music, animals and old cars!!  She and her family love spending lots of time with the grandparents (on both sides).  They also enjoy taking trips to Lake Norman!

Elizabeth Lopina began as Ardmore’s part-time Children and Student Assistant in 2016, and moved to full-time in 2024 where she also assists the Associate Pastor of Welcome as well as maintains the church bus reservations.

Elizabeth is a native of West Virginia and went to college at Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Communications.

She has worked on and off at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church (where she is also a member) in their Children’s Formation department, most recently as the Interim Children’s Minister. Other past positions include Event Staff for WinMock at Kinderton, Administrative Assistant for a local commercial developer and Volunteer/Middle School Coordinator for Crosby Scholars.

Elizabeth enjoys reading, culling Pinterest for new recipes, crafting, and volunteering at local community theaters. Although she does not consider herself a writer, she published a book of women’s inspirational stories titled Triumphant. Elizabeth has three grown children.

Carrie Kauffman is the Worship, Music and Arts administrative assistant at Ardmore Baptist Church. She serves primarily as the support person for the Minister of Worship, Music and Arts, the Music and Arts Educator, Adult Choir, Orchestra, Handbells and Music Education. Carrie received her Associate of Arts in Theater from Young Harris College. Throughout college and in the years following she has sung in choir, vocal ensemble and praise band.

Beyond her passion for music, she enjoys cooking, reading historical fiction, exploring antiques, traveling, camping, and diving into various arts and crafts. Carrie is married to her husband, Chris, and together they have three sons; Will, Wes and Wyatt.

Cindy East is the Financial Assistant at Ardmore Baptist Church. She does all of the financial tasks and helps with any day to day activities as needed. She has been in the accounting world for 40 years and loves the work she does. She feels truly blessed to be a part of the ministry here at Ardmore Baptist church. Cindy graduated from Bishop McGuinness High School and married her high school sweetheart, David. She attended Lenoir-Rhyne College in Hickory, NC where she received her accounting degree. 

Cindy enjoys baking, traveling and spending every free moment with her grandchildren. Cindy is married to her husband, David, and together they have one son, Joseph, and two grandchildren, Harper and Jace.

Maddie Watt is the Communications Director at Ardmore Baptist Church. Maddie handles social media pages, website administration, e-mail newsletters, and other church communications tools.

Originally from Richmond, Virginia, Maddie attended Elon University, where she graduated in May 2025 with a degree in Strategic Communications and a minor in Business Administration.

Maddie has past experiences working in social media and communications, most recently with YoungLife in Alamance County, North Carolina. She married her husband, Cooper, in August 2025, and they recently relocated to Winston-Salem. Together, they enjoy learning to cook, going on walks, playing golf, attending sporting events (go Syracuse!), and exploring their new city.

Russell McBride is the Facilities Manager for Ardmore Baptist Church. He handles all of the facility maintenance, remodels, room setup, and troubleshooting of facility issues on the campus. Russell is ready to help staff and congregation in any way possible. He provides a kind and helping hand wherever he goes.

In his spare time he enjoys doing anything with his family except shopping. He enjoys golfing, hunting, fishing, and loves camping, hiking, and trips to the beach with his girls. Russell is married to his wife, Laurie Norris McBride, and together they have two daughters, Lola & Reese.

Alyssa Prillaman serves as the Music and Arts Educator at Ardmore. She designs, coordinates, and executes a variety of preschool and children’s spiritual formation programming while building a community of respect and love all through one of God’s greatest gifts, music. Over the years, she has played a variety of roles in churches throughout Tennessee, Virginia, and North Carolina, serving as church pianist, worship leader, and director of community gospel ensemble, Haven of Praise while also volunteering in children’s ministries and on mission for as long as she can remember.

A fierce advocate for Christ-centered community, Alyssa is also a performer, arranger, designer, creator, and educator, leading with a heart to serve and shine the light of God through all she does. She works as a high school choral director in Martinsville, VA as well as operations director of non-profit community music school, Da Capo VA. She holds a Bachelor’s of Music degree (2019) from the esteemed Belmont University where she studied Music Education, Commercial Music, and Classical Music and seeks to share her love of learning and of life with students and families at Ardmore and beyond. Creativity and collaboration fuel her purpose and passion to make an impact: one child, one community member, one song, one story at a time.

Alyssa resides in Martinsville, VA and also loves traveling, cooking, writing and recording her own gospel and R&B music, graphic design, going to concerts, shopping, watching Disney Movies, romcoms, and musicals, working out, and of course spending quality time with family, friends, and her dog, Soleil!

Kevin Anderson is the Director of Worship Media at Ardmore Baptist Church. He can be found in the sound booth directing the technical team at Ardmore Baptist Church with sound, lights, projection, and recording of Sunday services. He also assists with training both youth and adults in everything technology, sound, lights, and livestream. Kevin graduated from two professional music diploma programs at McNally Smith College of Music in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He studied guitar performance, music theory, jazz harmony, studio recording, and music education. He worked as an assistant for the Music Theory Department, and he won the Award for Outstanding Achievement in the field of Guitar.

Kevin enjoys volunteering his musical talents at assisted living centers during the holidays, and creating performance opportunities for his music students. Kevin is married to Allison, and together they have a son, Roger, who was born in 2018. All three of them are passionate about music, nature, and animals, especially rescue dogs. Allison and Kevin have performed several concerts together as a musical duo called Southern Bacon.

Julie Sugg is the Director of the Ardmore Baptist Preschool. As the Director, she is the friendly face that preschool families see each day. Julie is passionate about fostering lifelong learning and collaborates regularly with her team, attending annual North American Reggio Emilia Alliance (NAREA) conferences. Julie earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Appalachian State University. She loves working with preschoolers and has over 10 years of experience as a Preschool Director.

Outside of work, Julie enjoys hiking, gardening, caring for farm animals, attending musicals, and traveling. She and her husband are with Davie High School students through the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). They have three children, with a ten-year gap between the oldest and youngest.

Tasha Gaither is the Childcare Coordinator at Ardmore Baptist Church. On Sunday mornings you can find Tasha welcoming in families, connecting new families to the children’s ministry, and ensuring that all children are safe and in the right classes. During the week Tasha is a preschool teacher at the Ardmore Baptist Preschool.

You can find Tasha with her son playing video games, outdoors (when she can convince Lamar to get out of the house), or binge-watching a great TV show. She has one son, Lamar.

Matthew serves as the organist for Ardmore Baptist Church. Matthew is a curious soul with a love for deep questions, old books, and strong coffee. When he’s not reading or writing, you’ll probably find him daydreaming about monastic silence, or music—or both—right before getting distracted by a new idea again. He believes in grace, good conversation, the slow work of God, and the fast work of a cup of coffee. He holds multiple degrees in music, his latest being a master’s degree in historical keyboard instruments. You can often find him with his family, enjoying being together with them.
