Tyler Tankersley is the Senior Pastor of Ardmore Baptist Church. In his role, he seeks to care for the congregation, lead the work of the Pastoral Staff, help set the vision for church, and serves as the primary preacher for our Sunday morning worship services. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in cultural anthropology from Southeast Missouri State University, a Master of Divinity from Central Baptist Theological Seminary, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry in Leadership and Spiritual Formation from George Fox University. Tyler has also written two books: Preaching the Word: Galatians and Sessions with Ezekiel: Holiness and Hope.

Tyler’s favorite hobby is hiking and he can often be found seeking out new trails in state parks around North Carolina. He also loves coffee, reading, writing, baking, running, and all things Lord of the Rings. Tyler is married to Jess, an early childhood administrator, and together they have three children: Henry, Owen, and Charlotte.

Dr. Gina Brock is the Associate Pastor at Ardmore Baptist Church. She oversees the adult faith formation ministry, Stephen Ministry, and attends to pastoral care needs of the church. She aims to support, encourage, and challenge adults in their faith journey. Gina has served Baptist congregations in Virginia, South Carolina, and Kentucky. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Wake Forest University, a Master of Divinity from the Baptist Theological Seminary in Richmond, Virginia, and a Doctor of Educational Ministry from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia.

In her spare time, Gina likes to read historical fiction books, enjoy a good movie, and find ways to be outside – usually walking her dog with her husband. She also loves to travel, and has visited China, Canada, Great Britain, Hungary, Costa Rica, and Germany. Gina and her husband, Chip, have one daughter, Rebecca.

David Fitzgerald serves as Minister of Worship, Music, and Arts at Ardmore Baptist Church where he oversees the weekly traditional and convergent style worship services, the Arts at Ardmore Concert Series, and a vibrant music and arts ministry consisting of multiple choral, handbell and instrumental groups for all ages.

David earned his Master of Church Music degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY, where he also served as a professor’s assistant, directed the Seminary Handbell Ensemble, and taught courses in Handbell Methods. David has served in music ministry positions in churches in Virginia, Kentucky, and North Carolina for over forty-five years. Throughout the years he has served as pianist and organist for Virginia Baptist State conferences and events, including The Virginia Baptist Male Chorale, The Northeast Piedmont Chorale, and served as guest clinician/conductor for state and local handbell festivals in Kentucky and Virginia. Several of his compositions have been published in Handbells Magazine and Worship Magazine. David and his wife Martha have four children and two beautiful granddaughters. David enjoys playing the piano, composing music, working in the yard, visiting antique stores, and spending time in the mountains and with his family. He is inspired by the beauty of nature and God’s creation, the beach, mountains, great music, and art, as well as creative worship and the great hymns of his faith.

Lee Ritchie is Minister to Children and Families which means she serves families with children birth-6th grade.  She has had the privilege of getting to know, equipping, praying for, and leading children and their families along their faith journey.

Lee received a B.S. in Early Childhood Education at the University of West Georgia and a M.Div. in Christian Education at McAfee School of Theology, Mercer University.  Lee has served as an elementary school teacher and a minister to children and youth in Georgia.

Lee enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading a good book, being near water, creating random art projects, and exploring the world from her children’s perspective. She is a yoga instructor and is trained in social emotional learning.

Lee and her husband, Jason, have 2 children.

Dane Martin is the Minister with Students at Ardmore Baptist Church. In his role he guides and supports teens and their families in this everchanging life and faith journey. Dane received his Bachelor of Arts from Seton Hall University with a major in Religious Studies and minors in Latin and Classics. Dane continued his studies and received his Master of Divinity from Emory University: Candler School of Theology in 2009. Dane has over a decade of experience working alongside teens and young adults in a variety of settings; children’s home, foster care, non-profits, and chaplaincy.

Dane enjoys playing sports, being outside, going to the gym, and watching his kid’s activities. He likes advocating for others which looks like mentoring high school students at local schools, volunteering at local non-profits, and being part of community wide discussions. Dane is married to Gretchen, together they have two boys, Finley and Brooks.

Kathryn Packett is the Coordinator of Invitation and Hospitality at Ardmore Baptist Church. Kathryn ensures visitors are welcomed, engaged, and supported during their time at Ardmore Baptist. She also assists with acclimating new members, community outreach, and planning events for the church. Kathryn holds a Bachelor of Science from Appalachian State University and has pursued continuing education through Central Baptist Theological Seminary.

Outside of church, Kathryn enjoys reading non-fiction, frequenting Tanglewood park with her family, and is always up for meeting you for a cup of coffee! Kathryn is married to Ryan, and together they have two children, Olivia and Graham, and a beloved black lab, Ginny.

Amy Gallaher is the Minister of Missional Engagement at Ardmore Baptist Church. Amy oversees our missional relationships both domestically and internationally. As well, she helps the church with disaster relief response. She received a Bachelor’s of Social Work from Campbell University and felt a call to ministry, which led her to work on a Master of Divinity from Campbell University Divinity School. She served as a Community Life Pastor at Mosaic Church of Clayton where she was also ordained to gospel ministry. Amy then discerned a calling to chaplaincy at WakeMed Health and Hospitals in Raleigh, NC where she worked part-time for 4 years.

Although she was born in and lived her first seven years in Greensboro, North Carolina, she spent most of her childhood in Hungary. As the daughter of CBF Field Personnel who served the Romany in Eastern Europe, she grew up as a Third Culture Kid (TCK) giving her a unique strength for moving about different cultures and learning the value of advocacy. Amy’s husband Tyler serves as a veterinarian. Together, they have a son, JT, and an energetic dog, Sandy.

Alan Gill is the Church Administrator for Ardmore Baptist Church.  He oversees the areas of finance, facilities, HR, and communications while leading our amazing Admin Team.  Alan has worked in various ministry roles for the past 34 years and earned his CCA (Certified Church Administrator) in 2019 through The Church Network. Alan earned degrees in Physics and Mathematics and worked as a Software Engineer for Computer Analytics Corporation and Electronic Data Systems in Chicago, IL.

Alan is an avid baseball fan (with high hopes for his beloved White Sox) and enjoys making music, live theatre, storytelling, and all kinds of performing arts. Alan and his wife, Julie, have three grown children and two beautiful grandchildren (of whom he would be happy to share some pictures … just ask!).

Kristin Morris is the Administrative Assistant at Ardmore Baptist Church. She is the first face you see in the office and handles the church calendar, hospital visitation list, and many more things that keep the church organized. She and her husband moved to Winston-Salem from Asheville, NC in 2018 and welcomed their amazing daughter, Kynlee, in 2019. 

Her parents are retired Salvation Army ministers, which means she had the pleasure of moving around quite a bit growing up and meeting interesting people from so many walks of life. She considers Atlanta, GA her home, as she spent most of her time there.  Her interests include music, animals and old cars!!  She and her family love spending lots of time with the grandparents (on both sides).  They also enjoy taking trips to Lake Norman!

Cindy East is the Financial Assistant at Ardmore Baptist Church. She does all of the financial tasks and helps with any day to day activities as needed. She has been in the accounting world for 40 years and loves the work she does. She feels truly blessed to be a part of the ministry here at Ardmore Baptist church. Cindy graduated from Bishop McGuinness High School and married her high school sweetheart, David. She attended Lenoir-Rhyne College in Hickory, NC where she received her accounting degree. 

Cindy enjoys baking, traveling and spending every free moment with her grandchildren. Cindy is married to her husband, David, and together they have one son, Joseph, and two grandchildren, Harper and Jace.

Elizabeth Lopina began as Ardmore’s part-time Children and Student Assistant in 2016, and moved to full-time in 2024 where she also assists the Coordinator of Invitation and Hospitality as well as maintains the church bus reservations.

Elizabeth is a native of West Virginia and went to college at Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Communications.

She has worked on and off at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church (where she is also a member) in their Children’s Formation department, most recently as the Interim Children’s Minister. Other past positions include Event Staff for WinMock at Kinderton, Administrative Assistant for a local commercial developer and Volunteer/Middle School Coordinator for Crosby Scholars.

Elizabeth enjoys reading, culling Pinterest for new recipes, crafting, and volunteering at local community theaters. Although she does not consider herself a writer, she published a book of women’s inspirational stories titled Triumphant. Elizabeth has three grown children.

Carrie Kauffman is the Worship, Music and Arts administrative assistant at Ardmore Baptist Church. She serves primarily as the support person for the Minister of Worship, Music and Arts, the Music and Arts Educator, Adult Choir, Orchestra, Handbells and Music Education. Carrie received her Associate of Arts in Theater from Young Harris College. Throughout college and in the years following she has sung in choir, vocal ensemble and praise band.

Beyond her passion for music, she enjoys cooking, reading historical fiction, exploring antiques, traveling, camping, and diving into various arts and crafts. Carrie is married to her husband, Chris, and together they have three sons; Will, Wes and Wyatt.

Russell McBride is the Facilities Manager for Ardmore Baptist Church. He handles all of the facility maintenance, remodels, room setup, and troubleshooting of facility issues on the campus. Russell is ready to help staff and congregation in any way possible. He provides a kind and helping hand wherever he goes.

In his spare time he enjoys doing anything with his family except shopping. He enjoys golfing, hunting, fishing, and loves camping, hiking, and trips to the beach with his girls. Russell is married to his wife, Laurie Norris McBride, and together they have two daughters, Lola & Reese.

James Robert Davidson (Jim) is the Music and Arts Educator coordinating the children’s music ministry, and directing the Adult Handbell Ensemble and church orchestra. Jim has his Bachelor of Music from Wheaton College and his Masters in Church Music and Doctor of Musical Arts from the School of Church Music at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Ministry has taken them to Kentucky, Georgia, North Carolina and Curitiba, Brazil, where they served as music missionaries for six years. He has also taught on the university level as the Chairman of the Music Department at Tift College, Forsyth, GA.

In his spare time, Jim enjoys gardening, making music, and puzzling. Among his inspirations are the scriptures and hymns with their stories. Jim is married to his wife, Rosemary and together they have two adult children, LeAnne, and Erik, three grandsons and a great granddaughter.

Julie Sugg is the Director of the Ardmore Baptist Preschool. As the Director, she is the friendly face that preschool families see each day. Julie is passionate about fostering lifelong learning and collaborates regularly with her team, attending annual North American Reggio Emilia Alliance (NAREA) conferences. Julie earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Appalachian State University. She loves working with preschoolers and has over 10 years of experience as a Preschool Director.

Outside of work, Julie enjoys hiking, gardening, caring for farm animals, attending musicals, and traveling. She and her husband are with Davie High School students through the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). They have three children, with a ten-year gap between the oldest and youngest.

Kevin Anderson is the Director of Worship Media at Ardmore Baptist Church. He can be found in the sound booth directing the technical team at Ardmore Baptist Church with sound, lights, projection, and recording of Sunday services. He also assists with training both youth and adults in everything technology, sound, lights, and livestream. Kevin graduated from two professional music diploma programs at McNally Smith College of Music in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He studied guitar performance, music theory, jazz harmony, studio recording, and music education. He worked as an assistant for the Music Theory Department, and he won the Award for Outstanding Achievement in the field of Guitar.

Kevin enjoys volunteering his musical talents at assisted living centers during the holidays, and creating performance opportunities for his music students. Kevin is married to Allison, and together they have a son, Roger, who was born in 2018. All three of them are passionate about music, nature, and animals, especially rescue dogs. Allison and Kevin have performed several concerts together as a musical duo called Southern Bacon.

Tasha Gaither is the Childcare Coordinator at Ardmore Baptist Church. On Sunday mornings you can find Tasha welcoming in families, connecting new families to the children’s ministry, and ensuring that all children are safe and in the right classes. During the week Tasha is a preschool teacher at the Ardmore Baptist Preschool.

You can find Tasha with her son playing video games, outdoors (when she can convince Lamar to get out of the house), or binge-watching a great TV show. She has one son, Lamar.

Matthew serves as the organist for Ardmore Baptist Church. Matthew is a curious soul with a love for deep questions, old books, and strong coffee. When he’s not reading or writing, you’ll probably find him daydreaming about monastic silence, or music—or both—right before getting distracted by a new idea again. He believes in grace, good conversation, the slow work of God, and the fast work of a cup of coffee. He holds multiple degrees in music, his latest being a master’s degree in historical keyboard instruments. You can often find him with his family, enjoying being together with them.
