Deepening faith, strengthening community

Adults

Life with God is a sacred journey.  Following Jesus Christ means continually offering ourselves to God to be shaped into the image of Christ.  Our faith formation ministries are dedicated to journeying alongside and assisting children, youth, and adults in ways which bring us closer to God.

At Ardmore Baptist, our adult study groups create space to open ourselves to God, allowing us to be transformed into a reflection of Jesus. As we grow in faith, we live more fully into the call to “love God and love neighbor as yourself” (Mark 12:30-31).

Stephen Ministry

What is Stephen Ministry?

Stephen Ministry provides high quality, one-to-one, Christ-centered care to people during difficult times of life.  When life becomes hard because of loss, grief, family stress and other problems, Trained lay leaders called Stephen Ministers make the presence of Christ real and provide confidential emotional and spiritual support.  They extend the care of our ministers and help a hurting person hear God’s comfort, guidance, and hope.

How can a Stephen Minister help?

A Stephen Minister is first an engaged member of the congregation who feels called to be a caring and compassionate support for others.  Stephen Ministers undergo 50 hours of initial training where they learn to listen carefully to a person’s feelings.  Stephen Ministers are paired with a Care Receiver whom they meet with once a week for about an hour.

How can I be paired with a Stephen Minister?

Contact Gina Brock for more information on the care a Stephen Minister can provide.
