Childcare at Ardmore Baptist Church
Jesus said, "Let the little ones come unto me, for of such is the kingdom of heaven".
We love children at Ardmore! They are gifts from God and we take our responsibility with his "little ones" very seriously. Our goal is for parents to feel peace of mind about leaving their precious bundles of joy in our care. It is our hope that children will be excited and eager to come to church as well as enjoy being here.
Childcare is provided for all Sunday morning and evening services, as well as during adult choir and handbell rehearsals, and for other special churchwide events. Childcare is offered for children ranging in age from birth to four years. Our childcare workers are paid and childcare rooms are always staffed with at least two workers, one of whom is an adult. To ensure safety of the children, we also use a security tag system with all of our preschoolers.
Children's Sunday Bible Study - 9:30 a.m.
At Ardmore, our Children’s Bible study strives to give every child a solid and lasting foundation for faith, built on the love and lessons of Jesus Christ. From infants through the sixth grade, we encourage children and their families to know the central truths of scripture as a guide for their lives. We use age-appropriate Bible stories, prayer, scripture memory, structured play, art, and music to establish and strengthen each child’s foundation. In a loving atmosphere, we welcome all children at the level of his/her abilities. We affirm that all children are "specially” created by God with unique talents that we can develop in the grace and love of Jesus. Our Children’s Bible Study ministry is a happy, active place for leaning and growing together in faith with peers.
A worship service for Kindergarteners through 6th graders. We meet during the 10:45 a.m. worship service two Sundays each month, August through June. Getting Ready Classes
A class designed for children in grades 1 through 6 who are asking questions about God and becoming a Christian. Children will be allowed to ask questions and learn about Jesus, the Lord’s Supper, Baptism, and other aspects of Christian faith. In addition, they will be given exercises to be completed at home with a parent. Becoming a Christian is an incredibly important step in anyone’s life, and this class seeks to ensure that children on this path have a clear understanding of the commitment they are making.
Now That I Am A Christian
The class is for any child in grades 1 through 6 who has made a profession of faith prior to the class. It follows the same structure as the Getting Ready classes. Children learn the importance of continuing to develop their personal relationship with Jesus and discuss what being a Christian really means, ways of connecting with God daily, and how to deepen their faith.
These Seminars are just for parents of preschoolers through 6th grade. They will be held throughout the year. Some topics of discussion will be boundaries with kids, the Five Love Languages of Children, building strong foundations for your child, dealing with today’s world and your child, Learning Curves for Children, and other topics as discovered.
The “special stuff” will be planned throughout the year. Petting zoos for preschoolers, mini lock-ins for sixth graders, and scavenger hunts for everyone. We are up for almost anything, so if you have ideas give Miss Melissa a call. Just remember, chaperones are always needed!
