What to Expect on My First Visit
Your First Sunday at Ardmore Baptist Church
We want to make it easy and pleasant for you to come to our church. We want you to be able to experience the great music, encouraging messages, friendly people, and enjoyable atmosphere that are a part of Ardmore Baptist.
What is the schedule on Sundays?
Bible study for all ages begins at 9:30 a.m. Worship begins at 8:15 a.m. and 10:45 a.m., with preschool worship care available from birth through 4 years.
Where should I park?
For your convenience, there are reserved “Guest Parking” spaces for visitors available immediately in front of the sanctuary. We also provide the Ardmore Express from a remote lot nearby - it runs 7:45 a.m. - 12:00 noon. Park in the lot, the Express will bring you right to the church, then take you back to your car after the service is over.
The lot is entered from Melrose Avenue (directions below).
- From the church, turn right onto Miller Street.
- Proceed to the Stop light at Queen Street.
- Turn left onto Queen Street and proceed to the 4-way Stop sign at Melrose Avenue.
- Turn right onto Melrose Avenue and proceed to the first parking lot entrance on your right (sign says Miller Plaza 2200).
- Ardmore Baptist uses the section closest to Miller Street for parking.
The primary pick-up/drop-off point is the covered entrance on the Elizabeth Avenue side of the church.
Where should I go first?
Look for the Welcome Center sign outside the main entrance doors. Please stop by our Welcome Desk in the main lobby. Our friendly staff there will tell you about our Sunday Bible Communities, and answer your questions. When you visit prior to Sunday school, you’ll be greeted by church members who will give you information about the various class listings for adults (and children) and escort you and your family to your Sunday Bible Study classes. If you are joining us for Worship you’ll find volunteers eager to meet you and tell you more about our congregation.
How will I find my way around?
Helping you find your way to your destination is the goal of our Welcome Team. You may also benefit from a map of our building. Download the map of our Facilities.
What are worship services like?
Our Sunday services are distinct because of their strong emphasis on sacred music and traditional worship. Through music, prayer, scripture, silence and the spoken word we lift our hearts to God.
What do I wear?
Please know you will be welcome no matter what you wear. Some people still wear suits and dresses and others prefer more casual attire.
Can I meet the Pastor?
The Pastor would love to meet you! He and other members of the staff are available in the Narthex (just outside the sanctuary) after worship every Sunday morning. If you would like a more in-depth visit with the Pastor, please call the church office to set up a time for a personal visit or phone call.
You can call the church office at 336-725-8767, Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
What if I have more questions?
We want to hear from you! If you have other questions, or simply a comment you want to share, e-mail Janet Hellard.
We look forward to meeting you!
