From Susan:

In my spare time I enjoy reading (historical fiction), knitting, spending time with my family, traveling, and playing the oboe. I play oboe with the Winston-Salem Community Band.

I am inspired by music of all types. It stirs my soul and soothes my spirit. Some of the most holy moments I have experienced have come as a result of hearing, singing, or playing music.

I am in ministry because I believe God called me. I grew up as a PK (Preacher’s Kid) so have a lifetime of experience in how church “works”. I love serving the members of this congregation in any way that I’m able. My parents are my heroes. I’ve watched them live lives dedicated to the service of Jesus Christ.

Something you probably don’t know about me is that I once had dinner with Tom Lester who played the character “Eb” on the television show “Green Acres”. He was the guest speaker at a Youth event in Indianapolis organized by my father back in the late 1960s. Since my father was hosting him, my family took him out to dinner after the event. He was a lot of fun!
