ext. 103

David Fitzgerald began his work as Minister of Worship, Music, & Arts on January 6, 2014.

David has a passion for equipping persons of all ages to discover and utilize their musical and creative gifts to serve God and proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ. He also has a love for music missions, and has helped organize and direct youth music-mission trips in the past.

Be around David for a short period of time, and you will know that he has an intense enthusiasm for handbells. He has been a guest clinician/conductor for many state and local handbell festivals, conferences, and workshops. His wife, Martha, calls him a true “ding-a-ling.”

David calls Martha “mother extraordinaire,” “the love of his life,” and “his partner in ministry.” They have been married for 28 years. Martha has taught preschool and special needs children, and has taught kindergarten at Jones Dairy Elementary School.

David and Martha have four talented children: Adam, Joel, Emily, and Zac. Adam is employed with the News & Observer.  Joel graduated from UNC-Charlotte and works for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company in Charlotte.  Emily graduated with a nursing degree from UNC-Wilmington in December. Zac is a freshman in High School.
